After an overnight stay in Pamukkale the bus departed for Hierapolis and the beautiful ancient thermal center. The ancient city sits on bluffs of white minerals. It is an awesome site.

Ephesus is about three hours from Pamukkale. Mark Scott's devotion featured Paul's doctrine about "Walking." Check it out on the Video Page.

The site locations also included a visit to the Church of St. John where he is supposedly buried.

Paul spent three years in Ephesus. Much of what was seen was not in Ephesus when Paul was there. However, a synagogue and the theater were and those are mentioned in the book of Acts.

Our last visit of the day was the supposed location of Mary's house when John brought her with him to Ephesus after Christ's death.

Day Notes - 2009

Day 1 - Chicago, USA to Rome, Italy. (Date change during flight.)

Day 2 - Rome Airport to Istanbul Turkey. Visit - Topkapi Palace.

Day 3 - ISTANBUL. Visit - The Spice Market, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia Museum, Church of Chora

Day 4 - IZMIR, Visit - Site of Polycarp's death and the Church. SARDES, Visit - Temple of Artemis (Diana), Byzantine church, restored Synagogue and Gymnasium/school. ALASEHIR/Philadelphia, Visit Philadelphia city gates. LAODICEA - Visit archeology site.

Day 5 - Visit HIERAPOLIS, ancient thermal center.
EPHESUS - Visit Church of St. John, Walk the ancient city streets, Visit the House of Mary Chapel in the hills.

Day 6 - KAISER/Thyatira, Visit city of Jezebel. PERGAMUM, Visit the Acropolis, Altar of Zeus, Citadel, Trajan temple, and steepest amphitheater. Visit the Aesculapuim, a center of healing. Drive by Assos.

Day 7 - TROY - Visit the archaeological site.
DARDANELLES - Cross by ferry.

Day 8 - Philippi, See the ancient Theater, Forum and prison as well as the location of one of the oldest churches. Thessaloniki

Day 9 - Thessaloniki, Veria also known as Berea where a monument stands for the Apostle Paul. See Amphipolis and Apollonia. Metora, home to monasteries in the sky, visit St. Barbara for women.

Day 10 - Kalambaka, See Ancient Delphi, Athens

Day 11 - Athens, home of the Olympic Stadium. Visit the Acropolis and Areopagus where Paul met with the men of Athens.

Day 12 - Athens, Corinth, The Canal of Corinth, Rome

Day 13 - Rome, Colosseum, Vatican City, Mamertine Prison where Paul spent his last days.

Day 14 - Rome - St. Paul, , Catacombs, burial place of Paul.

Day 15 - Rome to Chicago.
